POTTERY WHEEL EXPERIENCES
Reservations are required due to Covid guidelines
to adhere to social distancing requirements
Have you ever wanted to experience throwing a piece of clay on a pottery wheel?
Our Pottery Wheel Experience is designed to do just that.
It is an inexpensive alternative to signing up for a full block of lessons.
The Pottery Wheel Experience is a great way for families, friends, couples and groups to spend some time together!
Our potter will first show you the steps involved in throwing a piece of clay on the wheel
Then the potter will work with you to create your own special piece
Your piece will then be prepared to paint and you will have this time to practice the wheel on your own
Your time spent in the studio is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours
One -Visit Pottery Wheel Experience
$45 per person during regular business hours
$50 per person after hours (5pm and later)
A sample of what it is like to throw clay on a pottery wheel
Each participant will have the option of making a small bowl, small vase or small plate with the help of our potter.
Your piece will be painted the same day using engobes - a colored liquid clay available in limited colors.
Once dry your piece will be fired in our kiln.
Finished pieces will be available for you to pick up about one week after your visit.
The Two-Visit Pottery Wheel Experience is similar to the One-Visit in that our potter will first show you the steps involved in throwing a piece of clay on the wheel. Then will work with you to create your own special piece.
After this, you will have time to practice the wheel on your own.
You will return approximately one week after your visit to paint your piece with glazes.
The time spent in the studio for the first visit is approximately one hour, your second visit is spent painting your piece (approximately one more hour for this visit)
Two-Visit Pottery Wheel Experience
Upgrade to a 2-Visit Pottery Wheel Experience for only $10 more!
Participants will have the option of making a small bowl, small vase or small plate with the help of our potter.
Pieces must then be allowed to dry out and be fired in our kiln before you return to paint them.
This usually takes about a week.
During your second visit, you will paint your piece choosing from a full selection of glaze colors.
Your second visit must be booked and completed within 60 days of your first visit.
We are not able to hold pieces any longer than this due to limited storage space in the studio.
Glazed pieces will then have to be re-fired in our kiln. Your piece will be available for pick up about a week after your glazing session.
