Raku is a pottery technique that originated in 16th century Japan. The process results in beautifully unpredictable and intense colors. The word Raku means “enjoyment,” “comfort,” or “ease.”

Here at The Clay Pot, we invite you to experience this truly unique way of firing pottery. We now offer both Raku Workshops and Raku Parties for ages 16 and older.

You will paint your bisque piece with specifically formulated Raku glazes and see them emerge from the Raku kiln red hot and glowing. Our potter will guide you through the entire process. Come join us in the comfort of our newly designed outdoor Raku patio and easily create a beautiful Raku piece of your own.

You are welcomed to bring your pieces in to glaze & fire during one of our Raku Workshops, call for more information.
